• DANCERS, writers whose rhythm, balance, control, precision, energy and originality keep us focused for the whole piece;

• MUSICIANS, photographers who captivate with their ability and artistic statement;

• DETECTIVES, writers who roam their region with an eye for the out-of-place and an ear for silence;

• TRIAL LAWYERS, photographers who know how to cross-examine the appearance of things;

• TEACHERS, writers and photographers who love to learn and strive to inspire;

• POETS, photographers who, using the sparest material, create a new way of seeing or a way of seeing anew;

• TRAILBLAZERS, writers who lead to unexplored and unexpected places;

• and JESTERS, artists who know life's irony and surprise, who love to share their visual delight, who love to laugh.

Photographers who would sensationalize, demoralize, or vulgarize need not apply; nor do writers who are alarmists, hand-wringers, nay-sayers, demagogues or doctrinaires. (Though we may need a few mad scientists to keep us sane...)
